The Cooperative „Irpa“ is a womens cooperative, which produces exclusivly knitware, made of different wool. At the moment there are 60 members. The money, that is earned with those workers improve the life standard of the crafswomen, their families and the whole region. 

Cooperation with Arte Indio:

We have a partnership with the Cooperative „Irpa“ since 2006. The women produce mostly finger doll for Arte Indio, but other knitware such as scarfs, gloves, ponchos, and more are also sold by the company. The products by „Irpa“ are highly valued on the german market. Many ideas have been sent to us by our customers. Most of them were communitcated with the workers at „Irpa“ and put in our assortment. This way we can always provide something new in this section.

The Ayamara-women (a folk in the Ands Mountains) are happy about new ideas and extra orders, that are made with a lot of effort (a bit pations by the purchaser is presumed). This way we can present our customers more than 200 different finger-doll-models that have been created in the time of our cooperation. We ourselves are surprised by the skill of our workswomen.

History:

Finger-dolls are a typical handcrafted products from south america and a very popular souvenir and small present. Sadly there isn't a lot of information about the history of the small dolls. All we know is that they exist for a very long time. Today, next to the traditionell, native animal figures, there can be found a lot of other characters such as fairytale figures or comic figures. The finger dolls assist with every story, made up or red to a child and if the story ends with a "good night" it can be a great good-night-story!

The finger dolls can be different in colour by a minimum. Delivery will happen as soon as available.
