About Tejesol
These beautiful bracelets were lovingly handcrafted from bast by the women's cooperative "Tejesol". This cooperative was founded with the support of the church, by an Italian pastor. After a few years, he handed over the responsibility to the women in the cooperative. These continued the company as a non-profit organization. In spring 2010 we were welcomed by the local cooperative after initial telephone contacts and were able to convince ourselves of the high level of their manual skills. Enthusiastic about their skills, we decided to support this cooperative and also bought several different patterns. The members of the cooperative mainly do their work from home. But there are also workshops where once a week the best braiders among women pass on their knowledge to other members of the cooperative in order to increase quality and productivity even more. In order to increase the income of the cooperative members once again, the cooperative also sells its products to tourists, dealers and exporters in its own shop.
The bracelets differ slightly in shape, delivery is always subject to availability.
