Huayruro seeds / drilled
100% fair traded
This red and black seed of a tree from the jungle in the Amazon region is worshiped by the Indians living there as an amulet and good luck charm.
Huayruro is a legume species that occurs in all tropical areas. Their seeds are purple and have a black spot. Because of their decorative appearance, they are often used to make jewelry and are also used as talismans. In the past, the seeds were often used for rosaries, which earned them the name "paternoster peas" in this country.
Huayruros are poisonous! - Do not chew or swallow
Children should not wear Huayruro jewelry, or they should at least know that they shouldn't swallow or suck on the red seeds.
