Old manta pieces / patches
Original manta rays are used as ponchos and blankets. We offer usable pieces / patches of an old used hand-made manta (blanket). They can be used well as handicraft material, for example for patchwork, doll clothes, original patches on clothing, for the manufacture of pillowcases, doilies (table runners, placemats, altar doilies for the Pachamama ritual *) and much more. The material can also be combined very well with other materials, such as leather or woven fabrics. Let your imagination run wild!
* The Pachamama rite
For the peoples of the Andes, "Pachamama" is the personified mother earth revered as goddess and thus the goddess of fertility. "Pacha" in Quechua is the word for earth or world, "mom" means mother.
The Pachamama rite is a thank you to our mother earth - one of the most important rituals of the Incas and their descendants. Every year on August 8, the official big Thanksgiving Day for Pachamama, Mother Earth, takes place in the Andean countries. Pachamama is the universal energy source for everything that exists in the world. Pachamama is also sacrificed during the rest of the year because it is said that she avenges herself with disaster and catastrophe if she is not treated well. They are thanked all year round with offerings, especially after plowing and sowing, to ask for a good harvest, because without giving there is no taking. This ritual can be used for wishes of any kind and at any time.
