Scarves and gloves can also be found in our online shop. This product was manufactured by the cooperative Alpaqueros y Artesanos "Association Alto Andina" Puno / Peru.

The cooperative

The "Apaqueras" cooperative is a purely women's cooperative from Santa Rosa de Mazo Cruz, a village in southern Peru. The cooperative consists exclusively of alpaca owners who previously only sold the raw products of their alpacas. Due to various educational measures in cooperation with the cooperative "Irpa" from Puno (a longstanding partner of Arte Indio), however, the Apaqueras cooperative is now also able to produce high-quality products from the fibers. The cooperative currently consists of 30 women who manufacture their products at home, but in collaboration with the cooperative.

Care instructions: hand wash!

Please only lukewarm wash by hand and do not spin! We recommend washing the alpaca wool products with a mild wool detergent. After rinsing, squeeze out gently and place on a towel in the form and let it dry. This product was not manufactured in industrial mass production and is somewhat more sensitive than normal textiles.
